Welcome to Cervantes Center of Arts & Letters updated website. In it you'll find information about our latest and upcoming events, information about the organization, as well as multimedia materials for your enjoyment.

This year of 2010 is an important for Mexican history, being both the Bicentennial and the Centennial of two of Mexico's most important historical events, the initiation of the struggle that resulted in it's independence from Spain in 1810, and the eruption of the Mexican Revolution in 1910. We are contributing to the community of organizations and institutions involved in commemorating and educating about these two important historical events with a series of activities about the Mexican Revolution in November.

In addition we are preparing follow up events to our 2009 exhibit Pioneers of Spanish-Language Radio & Television and our annual Hispanic heritage Festival at MacArthur Park. In January we celebrated the fifth edition of the Three Wise Men Festival at MacArthur Park and managed to bring to the children and parents of that community books, gifts and toys, with the help of sponsoring organizations and participating volunteers.

If the winds are generous to our ship's sails we hope to bring a couple of special events in addition to the ones mentioned, and we shall keep you posted.

We have just created a YouTube channel where we will gradually upload past events of your interest. Just now we have available two of Armando de Moral's interviews, one with his departed friend Pedro Infante and another one with composer Ruben Mendez and Tito Guizar, which were presented at two of our events.

Last year it was a poignant one for us, because our friend and mentor Armando del Moral passed away. We are committed to pay homage to his memory by striving to maintain the visionary and altruistic approach he set to every endeavors he pursued.

This year is an exiting one for us, marking a new period in our existence as an organization. We have gained new vigor after spending much of 2009 re-organizing and are set to bring you cultural events for your enjoyment.

Hope to see you at one of our events!

Sincerily,

Concepcion Bouza, Director
